Its almost Spring and the board is dead!!

what the heck is going on???if it weren't for the bickering and people buying new rides nothing is going on.......is it too early yet? I'm waiting to pull one of my engines (got a Knock) to dang cold here yet. Bought enough parts to build a spair but the blocks been sitting at the machine shop for a month.....Lets talk projects I've got a new set of gauges waiting to go in too but way to cold to wire yet...anyone else staging work for this spring???

Shane 03-12-2004 08:32 AM

I have a lot of things I would LIKE to do. Waiting on a few things work related to happen first. Would like to get a bike (VTX 1800) and do some "freshening up" on the boat. Gotta make sure its in the budget first.:(

dyno 03-12-2004 08:42 AM

That $$$ thing sucks! I really need to add hydraulic steering but the cash just ain't there this year!!

OK, The one on the floor is just back from the engine shop for a cam change. and the one behind it on the stand is next. I'll do it right here.

Crazyhorse 03-12-2004 08:45 AM

This should brighten your day. Dave at the dyno couldn't blow up my motor (yet) and it made 681 h.p.@ 5600 rpm, 7 lbs boost. It makes 635@5350 at 5 lbs.

I'm here. I have had a lot of things going on over the winter.

Both engines were pulled and are currently being completely rebuilt with upgraded cams, reprogrammed ECU, and upgraded fuel pumps, etc... I heard from the shop earlier in the week that they may be in by this weekend. Once they are back in next step is to locate and fix a leak somewhere in the steering. Also while the motors where out I had some fiberglass work done.

Once I finally get the boat back I plan on installing replacing the stereo head unit and speakers with ones that I have had lying around from my old truck that I sold last year.

The weather here in Texas has been incredible over the last few weeks with the temps last week in the 70’s. Starting to really get anxious to get her back in the water.

CigDaze 03-12-2004 08:54 AM

It's Friday...the board is dead on most every friday.

dyno 03-12-2004 09:01 AM

GLH we got open water here! I've even heard that PowerQuest had tested a boat already.....whatch out for icebergs!!

MitchStellin 03-12-2004 09:33 AM

Don, let me know if I can help. The weather has really turned and the itch is from dry skin, not boating:D This really sucks, I am freezing. Next week brings warmer weather and this will help but for now we are in Purgatory, between Sledding and Boating. All I can do is look and dream for now. May be heading to WI to look at the AT, I really like that boat, a lot like the Sonic. Parnell has steering for a good price from the last boat, and tabs. He may give you a deal, it is from the Helm.

Ron P 03-12-2004 09:47 AM

Just mention APACHE and things will perk up pretty quickly around here.:p

It's supposed to be for a BB:confused: Although I've had BBs on SB stands that weren't any worse:rolleyes:
I think the only difference with this one is it has 4 feet and wheels and is more stable.

dyno 03-12-2004 10:06 AM

Damn Apaches!!!they always sneek up on ya!!!

Cord 03-12-2004 10:12 AM

So where you at Cord???Motor done? motor in? I know you said that you want to try a Blackhalk this year....post some pics will ya?

Cord 03-12-2004 10:24 AM

Well, the drive has been rebuilt, but I havn't picked it up yet. It'll just be in the garage getting damaged. The biggest problem is what I'm going to do for a steering bracket. I have a Warlock bracket from a past project, but it's going to take some real work to get it to fit. Other than it's just small putzy stuff. Pan gasket, muffler tips need to go back to Teague, new engine bay floor, new batteries, change the x-dim....I can see it happening already. The boat won't be done until loto. Just like the last time.

Strike 03-12-2004 10:32 AM

Well, the go fast (30 Spectre w/trips) is ready, but now we are going to Akron, OH tomorrow to by a go slow cruiser for the signifigant others party pleasure. She likes to go slow once and a while. Oh well, at least we can sleep on a cruiser.

I ordered the new cockpit and cabin carpet last night.
By the way, like John Wayne once said (to Ward Bond I believe), the only good injun is a dead injun.

Looking for exhaust and props. Then I'm ready to saddle up.:D

SIX DRIVES!!!!!

Holy crap, thats a lot of drives!!!!

Just joking, read a little funny though for a sec!!!

Crazyhorse 03-12-2004 11:15 AM

fred 03-12-2004 03:30 PM

I have been picking up some odds and ends....need to get a pair of K&N arresstors yet, put one motor back together then wait till it warms up a bit to get busy......Crazy.....try 10psi and see if you can make 700hp.....what could happen!!!!!:D ....Fred

dyno 03-12-2004 03:56 PM

Fred He's SCEEEEERD! Boost is your friend until it blows up!!

Crazyhorse 03-12-2004 04:37 PM

Fred, I could probably get pretty close to 700 with just some adjustments. It's jetted rich right now and could be leaned for more power but I'm not going to run it with the small pulleys anyway. In fact, I'm not even going to run it with the 3.25" pulleys I ran last year. I'm switching to 3.6" pulleys to drop the boost to 3 lbs, about 575 horsepower. I want just enough power to drive past you and your twin cousin Tom, The beakboater.
