Scarab..Why?

...the market has been down for 5 years...now picking up again. Here is a boat we deamed to be efficient with and without steps...raced..loved and looks good...a couple years back a 38'Scarab I was looking at could be had for about 150K with HP 500's....they sold well...quality had improved...I personally liked em a lot....and now the molds are destroyed I hear...one thing I will never understand...

Larry Smith always owned the molds. Wellcraft had the contract to build the pleasure version. I hightly doubt they were destroyed. I agree,, I would think they went back to Larry Smith.

That is Joes boat. He said he would sell it, but doesn't have too. And after the fresh power goes in this week, may not want too.

Makes sense, I would pull my contract also if some company was going to half a$$ a product with my name attached. Real shame though. I can remember as a kid growing up in the late 70's early 80's thinking how nice the old Wellcraft boats were.

I have been looking at the 38's. What do you all think of the ride quality compared to say a 37 outerlimits or a 38 cigarette?

How much headroom is in the cabin?
