Default Buyer Agents in FL?

Looking at a private party boat. Are their buyers agents in FL you can hire to do title verification, funds transfer/title exchange, and help arrange storage pending shipping? Lot of logistic questions, and a little concern with giving lots of cash to a PP without being able to verify ownership, leans and all the usual stuff.

There are documentation & title companies that'll do that for around $400. PM if you need I can give you a number.

You can also order an abstract title from the Coast Guard ($25) that will give you all current and past liens & owners of a documented vessel.
Go to abstract title here;
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/vdoc/nvdc.htm

If you are just looking for current owner try here with name of vessel;
http://www.st.nmfs.gov/st1/commercia...g_vessel2.html
Or ID number;

Hadn't thought of the doc companies. Guess I could call the people who did the doc on my Formula and see if what they could do, the boat in question isn't documented, just state registered.

Thanks - Greg

Hey Greg!

Do you need someone to do a pre-survey survey?

Roger,

I could use a pair of eyes (with a camera) in Miami. I'd try to fly down this weekend but the schedule doesn't look good, I have to judge at an NCRS meet on Sunday. Are you going down there again this weekend ?
