The water is rough, there has to be some good stories.

sgrady 03-21-2004 12:54 PM

I heard the same, nothing on the final though, minor issues, cables, battery, etc.

el indio 03-21-2004 01:01 PM

i heard about a new tiger going back to the factory in a shopping bag. Maybe cig racer can stop by the factory on wed. after the boat is recovered from marathon and check it out for all his oso bros. el indio.

OldSchool 03-21-2004 01:22 PM

Thanks for the cryptic info:rolleyes:  You forgot to include that if it was an apatchee (which is the greatest boat on earth) it wouldn't have happened.

el indio 03-21-2004 01:40 PM

there is a 41 Saber down as well. They all can brake.
It's not a matter of if, It is a matter of when. These are just facts.

Downtown42 03-21-2004 01:42 PM

How rough was it out there? That must be a long ride there and back. 350mi? :fish:

Waterfoul 03-21-2004 02:16 PM

41 Saber might be naughti kitty.... hope not. I'm supposed to be going for a ride with him on Lake Michigan when he gets back up here!!

Waterfoul 03-21-2004 02:23 PM

That would be a major bummer.

sgrady 03-21-2004 02:39 PM

Foul, correct it is Parnell :(

Waterfoul 03-21-2004 02:51 PM

Scott B 03-21-2004 05:03 PM

Blew 24 - 28 knots Friday and yesterday, laid down to 9 - 11 this AM. If they ran the outside, it was snotty on the way down, slightly better on the way up..

GLH 03-21-2004 05:19 PM

Well they are having a good time because I have received about 5 messages from Parnell, Parnell's girlfriend, and a few others...

All those messages were on the cell and left between 1:50 AM and 3:55Am both Saturday morning and this morning!!! Thank god Parn said to turn off the phone!!

Also Parnell fried an engine... but they got Dave's Top Gun going to take to Key West all they had to do from what I understood was to fix the hydraulic steering (after 8 hours at Monty's). Once it was fixed in the morning they dunked it and all was well apart from the fact that the had to steer left to go right and vice versa.... They fixed it backward!!!

Bummer for Parnell our local go fast hero!!!

10x 03-21-2004 06:12 PM

Did Parnell build his own engines, or did he pay a builder to do it for him? Does anybody know? Just curious. Wonderin what really let loose.

sgrady 03-21-2004 06:25 PM

Chief Engines, Tommy is a stand up guy and will I am sure find the issue and keep Parnell a satisfied client.

el indio 03-21-2004 06:29 PM

scott i have only heard good things about tommy as well.

Kent Perroux 03-21-2004 06:30 PM

Spent all week on a boat anchored off the bay side. Took the skiff(18 Donzi) in Hawks channel a few times. (Kids said it was better than the than the Univeral rides.)

We figured out the issue. Not running lean. The issue was from before when they were in the sutphen and I can't begin to say enough about Tom Hofstetler. Above and beyond the call of duty. We will be better than ever in early May. Thanks Tom.

BTW 94 mph and counting. :D

It was a FANTASTIC run. The weather was beautiful and the seas were somewhat rough on the way down. The way home was a bit better, 3-5's. The new tiger broke on the way down and on the way back. The steering cable on the way down and the motor on the way back. He limped it into Marathon where it sat overnight and was picked up on Monday and towed right to the Cig factory. Needless to say, the owner was not too happy.
I think there were a few others that broke down on the way back. But the good ol' APACHE did'nt let us down.
The only thing missing was Magnum Mark running his Apache!!!!
It was a GREAT TIME!!!!

Kathy

Parnell,

That must have been a bummer, but I'm glad you are being taking care of.

Early May should give you what ?? .... another 3-4 weeks before you have to winterize (or send it south again) :D :D :D

Good luck with her, that's a sweet boat
