If you're looking East in post #2, the inlet must run North and South. Could that be somewhere in Jersey...Great Adventure has a drive-through safari. Gulfstream.

The inlet runs east/west
I guess it is hard to figure out from the shot.
The picture is looking east out onto the ocean but you can't see the land on the right side.
