I would also HIGHLY recommend Concept if your going to buy a new boat !!!! They were GREAT to deal with !!!
As far as the 302 Scarab / 28/30 Concept comparo .... The 302 is an OK boat ... Has more freeboard than the 28/30 concept ... but the Concept is really built tuff ... more of a "custom" built boat ( I almost hate to use the term "custom" since it gets bantered around here so much ) The 302 is a mass produced boat that does what it's supposed to do ... the Concept is more of a "sport" boat ...

I also would go with Concept. The old Scarab 302's were nice boats and rode nice but with twin 250's my buddies only ran 60 on a good day. With the new materials , the newer boats are lighter and stronger than the older boats. But there are some good deals on older Scarabs around. Dave

Hi I'm joining this thread very late... I own a 1985 302 with twin 225 Black Maxes (old stuff) and, for its size, it really has a very good handling in the rough. Very solid hull, too (here in Corsica the chop is worse than Florida...). Well designed for such an old boat. It does 57mph (with Ttop) -60mph (without). I have'nt ridden the Concepts but for what I hear, Concept wins on all aspects though... except price.
