Escrow in Miami?
Does anyone run an escrow office in Miami? I need a way to transfer the money for the new boat next week. It's a private party, and since he just got stuck with a phoney cashiers check at his business he is reluctant to take a bank check and I don't want to carry that much cash ... It would feel too much like Miami Vice getting on a plane with a suitcase full of bills.

The 32 Scorpion cc. Got just a quick message from the sea trial that all went well, will get all the details tomorow. I plan to drop it at Doller next week for some minor glass stuff and to have them revamp the console a little before I bring it up to MD.
I thought of opening an account with a bank in the area, but doubt many of the same ones are up here. I use a Navy Research Lab CU, may be able to setup something with a branch of the Navy Fed CU as I'm sure they would have a branch in the Miami area.
I'll also ask the surveyor for ideas tomorrow. There's got to be a simple solution in there somewhere.

There is a woman down here that specializes in boat transactions, I think her name is Jan Saxton. Will do document searches, title transfers, etc.

I usually wire the funds. Have proper paperwork taken care of at your home bank. Get routing information from seller. Once everything checks out, call your bank to release funds. Depending how fast they move, it will be done in minutes. Then the seller can check with his bank. No stop payment issues etc.
