This is sick to read, if it would have been the mayors or the police chief boat, the thief would have been in jail now. I would take the motor apart to inspect for loose nuts in the valve train.

The damage done is just sickening. If you want, bring the boat over to my warehouse and I'd be happy to help you clean it up. The heads do have passages large enough to allow nuts, bolts, etc. to get down into the lifter gallery or below. It's possible they were going for the heads as well. I don't even want to comment on the cop's response. That's like saying an attractive women should expect to be raped. Please call me if there's ANYTHING I can help you with.
