Ok who does, when I sell the Sonic if it doesn't go to a pro-rated tax state I have to pay the rest of the year here. Nice huh I will be making a BS bill of sale up, and don't ever let Stafford county VA. know you have a boat.

CT has the same rediculous personal property tax. What a scam!

It seems every county in VA has a different way of taxing. Fairfax has a $1600 max I think, Prince William doesn't tax boats. Stafford is $5.49 per $100.00 of it's value.

I am documented and use a out of state port, but I have my trailer registered at my house and they found out I have a boat. Since I cant prove that its not kept here I have to pay. So the next boat trailer will just run a dealer tag from my shop when I use it. It is get harder and harder to run from the tax man.
