I use the orange merc hi performace LWP one and it works OK ... It is kind of a pain to connect it and things but it works fine. I dont run in salt water enought to worry about installing a permanant fluch mount in the engine compartment.

Re: Flusher for Bravo 1
I had Teague make some beautiful stainless Tees that I put into my intake lines. Since I run offshore pick-up with strainers I have two per engine. One is between the pump and the strainers, that will back flush the strainer and if I need to run the engine it will provide water to the pump. I also have one between the pump and the motor that I use for flushing, since I run a cross over and no thermostat I don't need to run them to flush. With twins, I run all 4 lines to valves that are all tied together so I only need to hook up the hose once. Then go down the line and open each of the 4 valves one at a time, everything is flushed.

and don't forget to run a 3/4 inch outdoor faucet most homes only have 1/2 faucets and use hot tub or rigid hose it don't collapse

I've installed the Flush Pro, and it works well so far.

Re: Flusher for Bravo 1
1) You have to open the engine hatch. 2) It won't flush the drives, 'cause of the built-in check valves. 3) If you have thermostats then don't wait for your engine to cool, 'cause you want circulation through your engine. On the flip side, it's a great way to winterize your engines. 1) You won't lose antifreeze through your drives with the built-in check valves. |

But isnt this true of any flushing device besides muffs? |
Re: Flusher for Bravo 1
In my Sonic the flush kit consists of a basic T joint in-line with the raw water hose (in the bilge). There are no check valves in the T joint. Therefore, with the engine turned OFF and the water hose turned on, the fresh water has no choice but to flush the drives and exit the drive pickups.
This is what Sydwayz was talking about above. |
Re: Flusher for Bravo 1
go to home depot
but a 1 1/4inch pipe T buy 3 hose clamps buy garden hose adapter to pipe fitting. buy garden hose cap. need this to seal when not flushing. buy what ever reducers to get the garden hose attachment to the right size. then go to your marina and buy how ever long of an extension you want to bring it to working convenience. use the adapters to go from 1 1/4 to the garden hose connector. WALLA you now have an instant flusher. just remove the cap, install the hose, turn on the water. once the water is on, it will flow out the drive. Once the motor starts the impeller does its job. I would recommend NOT running it above 1500rpm. You stand to dry out the garden hose or collapse it :( I spent less then 15 bucks to do both engines. only thing different I wish I would have done is to buy a thru-hull fitting like they have with some flush units. That would allow one hose connection for both motors. But I would not recommend running both at the same time on the same hose anyway. |
