Anyone know if the extended warranty thru Ford is worth getting? Thinking of extending mine once I hit 36K miles.
yup, mine had a transmission go out at 45k. i think there $3500, and the chance of them going out from what ive heard is pretty good. BUT they wouldnt cover my transmission because the truck had 35" tires on it. I bought it that way from a chevy dealership and they ended up covering the bill

I got right around 9k off of my 04/04 but that includes 1000 extra for retiree bonus that my grandfather let me use and i initially went through ford credit for another 1000. So that sounds about right, are you getting that on one of their plans(a,x,z)? if so i thought those were set prices but i've been wrong before.

3k

mine was 1350 and i *****ed about it! the diesel added $200 and i argued that the diesel had a 100k warranty. all depends on the length, mileage and deductable.

I thought that was pretty expensive too, i believe it was for 100k miles, the best coverage you could get but i don't know what the deductible was. I drive about 30k miles per year so i have a little over a year to decide. I know there's a ford dealer on here(i forget who). How do the warranty's work? is it the same price everywhere or is every dealership different? They told me it was because those trucks are generally used for construction type work and used hard. no $hit it's 4x4 diesel pickup what do you want me to do use it like a car?

They usually send something in the mail when they think your warranty is going to run out.

I've gotten 1 for my Expedition 1 for my 98 f150 and 1 for my 02 f150. More than likely I'll get one for my f250.

I think the f250 comes automatically comes with 100k on engine?

I'm more worried about the trans.
If I remember right they only qouted me 700 for the extended warranty.

And all the other warranty stuff I got on my other fords where less than 1/2 of what they where going to charge when I bought the vehicals.
