"Captain Nathan". He did very well. Gave him the compass headings and how to look for shallow spots and hazards. He also manuvered the boat while I handled the anchors. He did not hit any lobster traps!! I think he might have hit a jet skiier, but they don't count. :D

After a nice dinner time to take the long way back to the anchored home..
PS, yes, I know I need to fix the engine hatch. I had put a new engine in it the night before we left and did not have time to even see if it would start, much less consmetic coincerns... Oh, and yes, it started right up and ran great (except when I found out the throttle would stick if I ran more then about 55. ) |

Out on the reef for some skin diving. Was pretty windy (25mph winds) and we had a 20 minute run back down Hawk Channel. Loved it!!

We hit the key west sunset, but the kids (any myself) liked the one off the back of the boat better. The hairdo's are to be credited to that long run back from the reef in the dingy..
You can see it in their faces - we had a great time. |
That's what kids and boats are for... Thanks for sharing.

Kent,
Your children's faces say everything that need be said about boating with ones' Family. Enjoy and savor. My parents passed away long ago, and my daughter is on to adulthood, but I fondly remember our boating times as a Family, and nothing since has such resonance. Steve |
looks like fun

This trip was the week before my hearing for divorce. I wanted it to be a week with the kids and no interferance. It was windy all week, but it was also the best personal time I have had with the kids.

Great shots.
Thanks for sharing.. I hope all comes out well... |
Looks like a great time was had by all. Your kids will never forget the trip!

Originally posted by georges You think that's funny? I am a powerboater AND jetskier!:p I just have a fond memory of some jetskier playing chicken with me in Snake Creek channel as I was coming under the bridge as the tide was coming in. I was in the 35' trawler while towing my boat; coming in WITH the fast tide. He stopped under the bridge with a beer in one hand and pulled the kill switch with the other....Just another one of those @#$ that ruin that ruin the peoples perception of the group.. |
Looks like you and your kids had a great time!! Many more to come!!;)
