Default Keys trip

Thought I'd share a couple keys pics with my friends...(both of them- lol)

Briana (Daughter-17), myself, and Nathan(son-8) and the mothership "Islander" in the back for our week away from computers, TV, Nintendo and phones. Middle of March 04.

"Captain Nathan". He did very well. Gave him the compass headings and how to look for shallow spots and hazards. He also manuvered the boat while I handled the anchors. He did not hit any lobster traps!! I think he might have hit a jet skiier, but they don't count.

After a nice dinner time to take the long way back to the anchored home..

PS, yes, I know I need to fix the engine hatch. I had put a new engine in it the night before we left and did not have time to even see if it would start, much less consmetic coincerns... Oh, and yes, it started right up and ran great (except when I found out the throttle would stick if I ran more then about 55. )

Out on the reef for some skin diving. Was pretty windy (25mph winds) and we had a 20 minute run back down Hawk Channel. Loved it!!

We hit the key west sunset, but the kids (any myself) liked the one off the back of the boat better. The hairdo's are to be credited to that long run back from the reef in the dingy..

You can see it in their faces - we had a great time.

Kent,

Your children's faces say everything that need be said about boating with ones' Family. Enjoy and savor. My parents passed away long ago, and my daughter is on to adulthood, but I fondly remember our boating times as a Family, and nothing since has such resonance.
