You know, I came back from Daytona this year and all I could do was shake my head....50 miles and 50 grand dont make you a biker. I had rigid frame choppers with 20" over springer front ends 15 years ago. Now there are so many "custom" choppers like American Iron Horse and titan etc...that all you gotta do to own one is write a f#!$@%g check!!!! Lets give some credit to the guy who builds his own bike from a stocker and then it turns head and shreds tires!!!

MnFastBoat 04-27-2004 07:25 PM

I can almost GUARANTEE that no one has the same bike as me :)

1984 Kawasaki 1100LTD shaft drive :)

I think it is amazing how alike people are when it comes to a particular sport or intrest. Look at all the people on here that have bikes, boats, muscle cars, sleds, quads, and all the other crazy sh!t that goes fast and can get you in trouble. Is there a speed gene or what?

I mean tree huggers like trees and are vegiterians and all that crap so there must be something in all of us that makes us crazy for speed and them crazy for trees.

I realize this doesn't make much sense for this thread and it isn't even a complete thought but it was just a thought that I had while reading all the posts.

Mr. Demeanor 04-28-2004 10:07 AM

Iron I was thinking the same....damn, another similarity!

KiloKat 04-28-2004 10:19 AM

Wow - are there some nice bikes here or what!? I used to race bikes and still have a couple. A Suzuki for go-fast and a Harley VROD for fun.

GREEK LIGHTNING 04-28-2004 10:45 AM

Just bought a 2004 HD Low Rider. First Street Bike since 1987 when I sold my Yamaha V-Max. All my time was spent on cars and boats but now it's time to ride again!!

Ironmanwb 04-28-2004 03:03 PM

I was supposed to get my bike today and now they tell me I can't pick it up until friday. Damn I hate empty promises....I took the day off work and everything just so that I could pick it up and go ride. Plus the weather is awsome today and it is supposed to hit 80 tomorrow but friday..............RAIN.....doesn't that suck.

Sorry for B!tching but I want the damn bike.

Have made a couple rides, one to Colorado, one to Sturgis.
I love the Purple. It matches the boat.
I also enjoyed riding some while some of us were at the Sarasota Poker Run

I have posted this before but its my favorite bike video. The bike is a 500hp turbo Suzuki Hayabusa with a short wheelbase. The speeds on the video are KPH. Watch it full screen mode.

Jonas 04-29-2004 10:25 AM

Thats fun to watch.. holy horepower batman,,
but what a bunch of nutballs..
better hope no one does a quick lane change,, doh

Mr. Demeanor 04-29-2004 10:36 AM

I dont advocate their antics but it is entertaining. If I was driving down the road I would be cussing them out loud though. The guy with the camera on the Yamaha R1 nearly gets clipped by a lane changer at the beginning of the video.

HiPerf2000 04-29-2004 11:15 AM

WOW!!!!!!

That's amazing, the R1 was running 285+ KMH = (177+ MPH) and the Busa blew bye him on a wheelie.

200 mph Wheelies  that's some sick power.

Mr. Demeanor 04-29-2004 11:17 AM

MyBusa makes high 160's hp at the rear wheel and its scary fast. I have a turbo kit picked out that will put me at 300hp.

Yeah no Sh!t. A bumper at 180 mph + might hurt.

But I have to admit that looks realllllllllly fun. But thats why I bought a harley....It's hard to run anywhere near that hard with a Harley.

Jonas 04-29-2004 11:38 AM

yeah my harley is a putter it dont go very well it dont stop very well it dont turn very well,, and why do i have it??? its still fun,, i just sold godzilla monday as i decieded that thing was just to radical and uncomfortable to ride around on. no more track days nno more racing so bye bye it went..
downt to dirt and hd..
the sport bike stuff isnt out of my system i just supress it as i cant take the chances anymore,, i think i done used up 8 lives..

Mr. Demeanor 04-29-2004 12:13 PM

My bike will do close to 200mph but I mostly cruise on it. I really dont ride much since having some major spine problems but it doesnt seem to bother me as much as sitting in a car or at a desk. Sometimes what good for your head isnt whats good for the body :)

Well I called him back today and told him how I had taken off work and alll the other sh!t and Now I am getting my bike tonight.

The moral to the story is.....
