How many people here have Bikes?

I just bought my first bike today. I bought a 2004 HD 1200 Sporster custom.

I have a big garage so my friends have stored their bikes there and as a "rental fee" I got to ride whenever I want to. Well they have all moved and have places to store them now so I don't get to ride. I have been riding for the last two years and never had my own bike so I bit the bullet and bought one.

Anyway just curious about how many people on here have bikes?

I do! I just got a VTX 1800. Put some accessories on it and a set of Vance & Hines Big Shots!

Tantrum 04-23-2004 03:23 PM

Ive always had cafe bikes, current 900rr is for sale because Ive finally come to terms that I have no self control. So before I hurt or kill myself it is going.
Last HD was a '95 dresser anniversary edition, big bike and way comfy. Now I borrow one of my fathers and spend the money and garage space on snowmobiles and boat stuff.
Congrats on your purchase, be safe, and keep the rubber side down ;)

I have a 2001 HD Road Glide, after owning more than 10 Harley's this one is by far the best riding Harley, money well spent. Good luck with your new ride and drive safe.

jtmiller02 04-23-2004 04:13 PM

had a honda F4i last year, I have ridden most recent street bikes and if I ever get my back troubles worked out I'm sure I'll be back playing again

Ange 04-23-2004 04:18 PM

One less person than wants it to be! I'm shopping. I do have access to a bike junkyard, and may just end up building my own. It helps that I work with a guy that works on bikes some, and I know a guy that runs a custom shop. I do have my eye on a couple of HD Sportsters though. I suppose I'm in the "eventually" category. :D

EricG 04-23-2004 04:21 PM

I've got a 2001 Suzuki SV650 Naked....I've Cafe'd it out pretty good and it's an absolutely perfect commuter bike. Absolutely No status, but it's a blast just about everywhere...:D

got to have bikes that is truly my first passion when i quit racing needed another hobby so got into these huge holes in the h20..
as a family we also have my 01 kx 250 //son 00 yz 125 //oldest daughter 02 xr 80 // little chum chums eton 40 cc quad // mama's 99 rm 80 // this way everyone has something to ride. its justa great family thing to get away and everyone can have fun,.,,

jtmiller02 04-23-2004 05:14 PM

Jonas, your garage looks like most of my friends garages, plus a nice car too. Most of my friends have so many bikes you can hardly walk through the garage. Probably the most fun you can have on wheels though. My Honda was the best daily driver for the summer, fast, cheap, reliable, and awesome gas milage not to mention a blast. I used to go a week on less than 4 gallons and I rode 6,000 miles+ last summer :D

Jonas 04-23-2004 05:19 PM

jt,
i love those hondas havnt riden an f4 but plenty time on f2s and they were super sweet.. so i can imagine as they just keep refineing em and makin em better. its getting scary as i just rode a new yam 1000 and i think it has more hp than my old full tilt boogie ama superbike had. and any tom dick or harry can just run in a buy one for their first bike.. hmmm scary!!!
ride safe hope u get your back issues ironed out as its a pitty to let it sit,,

Jonas,
I sold the Honda, then hurt my back in a car accident right after, i consider myself lucky not to have been riding it at the time and was in my F-150 instead, however it might be a while before i'm back on them. I do miss riding though, and definately want to try to get back on a bike as soon as i can.

I have ridden just about everything fromthe 929,900, R1, various 600's to the hayabusa, there are definately some seriously fast bikes out there now. I think every bike we picked up at the salvage auction had less than 1,000 miles on it, most with paper tags..scary.

Funny you should ask.
A little spam here.

'94 H-D Dyna Wide Glide. 7500 miles, All stock, never modified. Mint

Ordered it new, just went in the Auto Rv today for sale.

Just no time to ride anymore, but the last couple of yrs I have noticed I spend alot more time watching out for the other drivers. Just way to many vehicles anymore on the road bigger than me. To the point of not enjoying it anymore. Figure someone is saying it's time for it to go.

After a dozen years of living fast boats, I got into bikes. Now I own two. A 2002 Fatboy and a 2004 Bourget Low Blow Chopper with a 124 S & S.

Hate to admit it, but I'd rather be on a bike.

I sold my Ducati 748 2 years ago and miss it bigtime every time I see another bike. I guess right now (after totaling my Chevy 2500HD into a driver who "didn't see me,") I'm still too scared of the other drivers on the road to buy another.

2000 Suzuki Hayabusa lightly modified but working on plans for mild turbo kit for 300hp at the wheel.
Recently sold high 8 second Kosman chassis Kaw dragbike. Would love a second bike for touring with the wife....maybe a VTX???

Russ, love the old two stroke dragbikes! Mine was, however, a 1397 Star Racing KZ/GPZ.

'03 Fatboy. Vance&Hines Long shots, Carlini bars, neons....just some simple changes. This year looking to custom paint (that whole 100th Ann. paint job isn't worth what I thought), screw with the motor a bit, chrone the rims, we'll see.
