Looking for LED trailer lights.

I purchased a set of LED tail lights for my trailer. I am now looking for some clearance lights to match them.

I have found the 3 light bar on the back of the trailer in LED but need some clearance lights. I need the ones that have a center stud holding them on. Amber in color obviously. I would like to find a place that has both the side clearance lights and the rear bar so I can order both at the same time.

Anyone have some ideas?

I'll try and post a pic of the style I am looking for.

I hope you weren't the one trying to steal mine in south Tampa this weekend? LOL ... Right there at the ramp!! There covered by diamond plating and rivet screws they popped to rivets and tried to slide in behind the plating and were unsuccsefull. Man, what people will go through at someone elses expense. Just don't let me walk up on it..If you guyz see someone fooling around someones equip. ask them what type of boat they have and generaly you'll know if this is there trailer. They're gonna hestitate with the boat type.

Hey Buck, sounds good. I did my whole trailer in LED. You get what you pay for in LED's some cheaper ones have less led's in them and wont hold up. I bought all flush mount rubber mounted ones they last very well. Pick them up at any place that sell heavy truck parts. Good luck, mark

Go to E-Bay and search for led marker lights. There are plenty. Also search the web for the same.

Buck I have ordered from Susan at this place

www.kmtparts.com

Great customer service and they carry the Inovative lighting products. Innovative make some nice LED lights that I have used in the "dark areas" on the boat and truck. Innovative also make the telescoping LED stern light.

I would hope kmt offers the LED trailer lights as well.

Scott

I know it's hard too see and they are reflecting on the boards but those are the amber 3 LED step lights shining down on my running boards.
The auto resize killed this picture
 If you want to see a better one I can always email it:cool:

Speed2Lead....No offense. But it's just much easier to throw money at someone than to spend the time and effort removing someone else's lights. Just a waste of my time. ;)

mfb....I just want to order some and not mess with the hunt. I spend 6 days a week running my business with little time to spend tracking some down. Hoping someone will have a quick link for me. :)

Pure Energy....I check ebay, no dice. I did a google search with no luck also. I'll keep looking though. Like I said, I found the rear one, just can't find the right side markers.

Scott...I checked that link. Couldn't find what I was looking for there either. Truck looks good though. My opinion may be biased so I wouldn't put much value on it. :D

I just did a COMPLETE rework of everything from the connector back, including running a seperate 12 guage ground wire and grounding every light to it rather than the trailer. Used all waterproof connectors with five coats of liquid electrical tape over that. Wire ties every 12 inches. Used all LED's and now has five side marker/clearance lights on each side, four amber and one red at the rear. Looks cool. These LED's are brighter in the daylight than the old ones were at night. At night they are wicked bright.

Try searching for the" buy truck stuff" website. Also try innovativelight.com, and seasense.com. I am in the process of replacing mine with Maxxima leds all the way around. In my research I have found that fewer better diodes are better than alot of cheap diodes. The first website will explain this if you go to the learn more about led lights. Stay away from the american superlites, I hear they leak.

Griff 04-26-2004 11:55 PM

buck, have you checked Overtons. Thats where I got my tail lights and they had some LED clearance lights listed as well.

Griff, I checked them online. But haven't looked at their catalog yet. Didn't find anything on their website.

open wide....I'll check that out. Thanks for the reply.

Well buck, if you're not willing to put the time into researching the lighting on your trailer I hope you are happy with what someone else comes up with for lighting on YOUR trailer. Just don't don't get get it, "I don't have time" then, *****, *****, *****.

I'm NOT beating on you buck, just seems like no one has the time to do the things they want to there boats or trailers and cannot convey to the mech./assembler what they want. Then they SCREEM AND YELL because it wasn't done the way "THEY" wanted or it was toooo much money. I spent $700.00 in lights and two days on my trailer, but I go to the extreme.

Bad day at work???????

Tonto 04-27-2004 01:04 AM

NO buck, I guess niether one of us can read the right emotions from behind the key keyboard. My interpretetion(sp) was that you wanted some cheap LED lights and didn't want to spend the time to do the research. My BAD, I apologize. If you have a late model truck, one thing you might want to think about is putting large clearance lights in the center on the rear of the trailer and then wiring them to the third brake light circuit so you have "BLINDING" brake lights at night.

Griff,
No, I don't have a job. I just hang out at CHIEF ENGINES all day.

Robert

buck183 04-27-2004 01:08 AM

Tonto,

Fair enough.

Money is not an issue to me when repairing something. Cutting corners does not pay in the long run IMO.

I'm just trying to find one certain style of clearance light that I currently have in LED to match the mounts on my trailer....that's all.

I have found everything else I need.

Buck

Tonto 04-27-2004 01:25 AM

buck, I would go to a LARGE truck stop and see if they have something, checkout www.chromeshop75.com, that is the BIG truck stop at 75 and the turnpike here in Fl. If I can help you do not hesitate to call 770-363-2185 cell, I'm in S.Fl.
I put 35 LED lights on my trailer, including the third brake light trick, which gives me 7 LED brake lights on the drive guard, you DON'T want to be behind me at night.

Frank, what ramp were you parked at? Gandy?

Formula Outlaw 04-27-2004 09:02 AM

Buck, I checked my "Overton's" catalog and think they just have what you need, those are similiar to what I put on my trailer, though Todd at Coastal Marine here in Nokomis, Fl, got mine for me. Check them out when you can, they just might work for you.

You will also find that 90% of the people on this board are more than willing to help out and offer insight into questions anyone has. Never be afraid to ask. Simply read posts that are constructive and ignore the rest (not meant as a slam at anyone for any reason).

I bookmarked a few LED stores on EBAY a while ago in prep for the same project (when it becomes the most important one on my project list). Found there are some with few led's, and they don't light up well, others have a jillion, and it looks like rows of lights in the light, and some are jusssssst right, and have the best illumination. If I can figure out how to share the bookmarks with you, they're yours.

kevinr 04-27-2004 03:13 PM

We have them at our NAPA store, you should be able to go to your local Napa look in there Truck lite catalog........

Chart 04-27-2004 05:55 PM

Sorry Buck, seams my watching of the LED stores is no more. Don't know if Ebay dumped it, or if I did by accident.

Did search "led trailer" and got two pages of lights on Ebay.

MnFastBoat 04-27-2004 06:23 PM

I got this site from someone on OSO awhile back

have not bought from them personally, YET
but they do have the ones I want to go with.

Ok, Buck first have a beer. Second, call me. Third, buy enough lights to do my trailer. :D

Donzi Corleone 04-27-2004 07:41 PM

Yeah,Gandy damn it stays so busy there you would think someone would see whats goin on..I think the trailer alarm sent them running its pretty sensitve. People think I worry to much about theft to my equip. Well heres a perfect example of what they'll do. The killer is its probabley for some beatup fishing boat trailer.

You're fired Chart! I'm never speaking to you again. :D

I've found several dozen places to get LEDs from. Just not the style of light that matches the mounts that I have. Guess I'll have to suck it up and change over to a style that's available. Problem solved.

LEDtronics direct replacement LED automotive bulbs has twice as many LEDs

WARPARTY36 04-28-2004 01:51 PM

Buck, you don't need LED's just hang that silver shirt on the back of your trailer!:D :D

There is a manufacturer in OKC. I don't recall the name though. I am sure one of us can get set up with them and buy cheaper.:eureka:

LOL Bubba. It would much easier to take my hat off wouldn't it? Plenty of reflective properties there. ;)

Hey, don't you owe me like $100 or something? :p

Chris L 04-28-2004 10:52 PM

I am in the trucking industry I have never seen a post mount L.E.D. I use a company called Truck Lite or Grote. They seem to be about the only ones out there that just replace a light if you ever have a failer. The lights cost enough as it is.With out buying them twice because of water leakage.

"Deny" They can't prove anything without witnesses. I don't know any, do you? :D

Remember, it's ALWAYS the woman's fault. We have two heads and only enough blood to run one of them. We can't help it. :p
