I'm with fund razor...I've been lurking for quite a while, but when I saw DRG's thread I decided that this was a really good group of people and it would probably be okay if I opened my mouth.

Pointerman 04-27-2004 02:41 PM

I lurk regularly, but post only when something really important comes up like whether I post or not.

Strip Poker 388 04-27-2004 02:56 PM

I am kinda shy.I don't say much but try to contribute when I can:D :D

38KV 04-27-2004 03:24 PM

I guess I'm a poster... 1,15 post per day.

LPA2106 04-27-2004 03:29 PM

poster..should I stay or go?

Waterfoul 04-27-2004 04:22 PM

I post once in a while.

Surgin' General 04-27-2004 04:27 PM

maybe I should change my name to Lurkin' General...

JaayTeee 04-27-2004 04:56 PM

The $ 64,000 question is

.......What is the # of posts per day that makes you
a "poster" ;)

Ms PatriYacht 04-27-2004 05:06 PM

To be a true lurker, you really need to be able to
go months and months without posting, if you post
a few times a month than I would say you are "moderate poster":D :D [/B][/QUOTE]

Ok, I am not sure if there is a definition
but I think to be true lurker you would probably only post about 12 times a year, and most members would not recognize your screen name. If you post more than than your are probably just an occasional poster. anyway that's my .02 :D

Waterfoul 04-27-2004 05:11 PM

Where do you find that list of who are the top posters and how many you average a day? I used to know where it was.... getting old I guess.

brian41 04-27-2004 05:58 PM

I have been a lurker for a couple of years and in the beginning answered some questions other members had and I never seemed to get any response, but when a regular poster would answer under me they would get a bunch of replies when I knew they where wrong so I would leave it alone.I've been working on offshore boats since 1976, I was Mike McLeod's (McLeod interiors) first employee when we where making them in a 2 car garage.I have been in the marine business ever since as an owner and have shelves of parts that do not work.I have a 2000 HP dyno in my shop and this year I am adding a complete Sunnen machine shop because I am tired of incompetent and untimely work done by other machine shops. As a rule I will only respond if I can help but I am on here just about every day sometime 3 or more times a day if I find something interesting.I prefer this site over the other one because there are a lot more serious offshore boaters here and have learned alot. This is the reason I LURK

I am a true Lurker then. Only Rambunctious, Waterfoul, and a Lurker named Venomous would recognise my name. Mitch Stellin and DK Western might recognise my boat. (Sea 100 outings)

TwoKs 04-27-2004 06:26 PM

This describes me also. I sometimes even post just because I can.... :) I remember when the general membership was wondering who would be the 1000th member.

epeek 04-27-2004 09:23 PM

I lurk. I post. I'm an every man.( whatever that is)!

Downtown42 04-27-2004 09:28 PM

lurkers are lurking

Ranman 04-27-2004 09:58 PM

I'm mostly a lurker, but post now and then. I actually read OSO for years before I registered. Had I registered back when I discovered the site, I would have been in the top 1000 members. Oh well...

One day I'll pay the money and get the pics, but now it's like a game for me to see how long I can last with out paying. :o

Wasabe 04-27-2004 09:58 PM

POSTWHORECHICK

mopower 04-27-2004 10:02 PM

HO , HO , HO , POST , HO:D :D

Mark D 04-27-2004 11:34 PM

I lurk every night at home & I try to lurk when I can at work. Minimum of an hour per day I would suspect..

I think I would post more but I hate my screen name.

Maybe true. I just have this thing about paying for web sites. OSO is the only one I've even considered so eventually I'll buck up. It's just a matter of when. Actually, once I pay, It'll suck cause then I'll spend way more time here lowering my work productivity even more. Maybe that's the source of my resistance...

I'm sure I sound like a cheap bastage, but to me it's the principle of the thing. I'm a Donzi owner and so I contribute significantly to donzi.net which is supported only be members' donations. Thanks for the reply.

Fuelish Pleasures 04-28-2004 08:37 AM

Lurk every day, occasional poster.:)

I voted but I wont post:)

Scarab105 04-28-2004 02:12 PM

I could be a post ho if I keep doing this

Scarab105 04-28-2004 02:15 PM

I think the lurkers are as important as the post ho because they do contribute alot when needed.
may be I will be 60 post by the end of the week!

GLH 04-28-2004 07:34 PM

Doing good Ed we're rubbing off on you!

open87 04-28-2004 09:41 PM

ahhhhh, ho post :D

RM2 04-30-2004 08:07 PM

I rarely lurk, even rarer is when I post 'cause I'm always working on the damn boat when I'm not in it in the water.:)

Formula Outlaw 05-01-2004 08:58 AM

I'm a "poster", I like the interaction between us posters. Several the the "posters" have not posted in this post yet. Say that fast three times.

One of the biggest attractions of this board is getting questions we all have answered, and you can't do that without posting. Therefore it would be logical to assume (gee, do I sound Spcok here or what) that to not post denies one of the biggest attributes of this board.

How's that????????:D :D
