Default Adding Oil Heaters

I was at a Dinner the other night, where I had met the owner of a NASCAR TEAM, while discussing engines he had suggested to add oil heaters which would add a tremendous amount of engine life (preventive maintance) , curious if anyone has done this setup with 500EFI.
Thanks

I've never seen it installed on a boat.... the way they work in a nascar is they are plugged into a wall outlet before they start the car... the oil pan has a heater inside.... the oil is preheated to 200 degrees so that it flows better upon start-up.

I don't think you need it . Most of them use it on there dry sump tanks . I don't use them on any of my race cars or my blower motors and I have never had a bearing problem .

If you where up north cold cranking it might be a consideration.it would be easier to crank.

I do always wait till I see the oil temp gage move before calling on it. The Hustler has a Oil thermostats . It takes about 10 min to get some oil temp
