I recently sold my checkmate this way. Although it didn't meet the reserve and "sell" on ebay, that is where the buyer saw the boat advertised. He was from Virginia.
I had my boat advertised on here and boattrader with no action. I put it on ebay and the auction recieved 3000 hits in 7 days. I probably had 40 phone calls in that time period. It is a good, cheap ($40) means of worldwide advertisment. And these days people are not afraid to travel to buy a boat that they want. Hell, i sold mine to a guy in VA, and i just bought another in FL.
