My 98 eldo has been a nightmare. Now, the blower motor works when it wants to. Dealer says over $1500 to replace the blower and the computer that runs it. Computer has to come from dealer because its tied to the chip in the key. WTF. I'm gonna run a wire from the battery to a toggle switch I duct tape to the dash and on to the blower motor (been watching too much Red Green show). Cruise control comes and goes. One electronic nightmare after another.

alot of U.S. luxury cars are low in resale . just did a little paint work on a 01 town car all options for 17000.00. i wonder what my owners gave on trade to sell that low. that's what the market is here.i belive the car had a sticker close to 40 when new. ouch:eek:

I got a 96 STS, love it. It runs strong.
I agree, buy Cadis used because they depreciate quickly and the Certified Used Program provides an extended warrantee to 100,000. My plan only went to 70,000 but it was basically bumper-bumper with a loaner car from the dealer. |
I just love Caddies, probably because I make good money fixing the electrical failures they all seem to suffer from:) Other than the known engine problems, I can tell you that the SRS electronic suspension system is prone to shock failure at $700 a shock Canadian and 50% of the shock fails take the SRS module with them at 750 a shot. The body control module which controls everything from power windows to reverse lights are failure prone as well. We replace a lot of a/c evaporater cores and compressors on Caddies too :) YEP, I lOVE CADDIES :)

now heres one
my old STS , I cried when I sold it, would not run worth a hoot on cold days. Typical Florida Car. warm or hot weather it ran fantastic and I put 145 K on it. Suspension went several times, it must have been the Railway tracks in Georgia I hit at 85 mph one night. Still a great car
