What do you guys think premiums will be in 3-4 years. Will they level out somewhat, or be cost prohibitive?
Currently boatless so 0, last boat was paid for, so I lived dangerously w/o insur. Prior boat ran 525's and insur. was jumping 20-30% Each renewal. Next boat is gonna make me think twice about buying when I price insur.
By the way I think many firms look at highway speeding tickets as an opportunity to upcharge on boat coverage.

State farm just dropped my policy so now im on the hunt for insurance in south Florida, No one wants to write a boat policy, they lost their azz with Wilma last year now I cant even GET insurance.
GRRRRRRRR
Might have to register the boat at my mother in laws house in PA and have it provisioned to come to florida. Sy quoted me 7 grand a year for 80K of coverage.
Can I get a HELL NO?

What is your coverage/deductible etc...?
Does it include wind, offshore, lay-up etc...?

Maybe during the next storm more people will either take the boat with them or secure it better.
I heard at the Miami Boat Show most people who lived in Fla. were walking around with ins checks looking to buy a new boat because theirs was totaled by the ins co.
Someone has to pay for all those new boats

Re: What Do You Pay For your boat Insurance ?
WOW! I can not believe what everyone here is paying for insurance. I pay $325 per year for a 91 Formula 311 with twin 500HP's. The boat is rated at 70 mph, with a deductibe of $1000.00 and a 6 month lay-up period. I do have a home and 2 automobiles on the same policy which helps.
