I have AC at my house that's enough, on the boat it's just another thing that'll go t!ts up fast.
Besides to cool off... that's what the lake is for.

Our black thunder has air, and plenty of room to sleep, and we can go 70.
If you overnight air conditioning is pretty important.

Just installed a 9,000 BTU Mermaid Air into my Sonic 45SS. Fit like a glove, fairly lightweight too.

Don't know how we were living before it; what a difference it makes. Got it from these guys, good service and support with questions I had: https://citimarinestore.com/en/184-m...ioning-boat-ac

Next up I'm considering purchasing a small gen set, apparently it can fit in the 45 without much issue. One thing I don't like is the idea of the weight it will add (these things start at 300+ pounds in the lower kW range)... not trying to slow down!

If anybody has experience with a gen set in their 45 (or close), what did you go with, and has it affected performance any?

New AC units now are 12 volt. Just need two batteries to run 7 hours before batteries kick.
need no stinking Genny

What's the easiest 12v AC unit for a small houseboat?

Anyone ever run a portable AC unit off a small inverter type generator such as a Honda 2000?
