I have AC at my house that's enough, on the boat it's just another thing that'll go t!ts up fast.
Besides to cool off... that's what the lake is for. |
Our black thunder has air, and plenty of room to sleep, and we can go 70.
If you overnight air conditioning is pretty important. |

Just installed a 9,000 BTU Mermaid Air into my Sonic 45SS. Fit like a glove, fairly lightweight too.
Don't know how we were living before it; what a difference it makes. Got it from these guys, good service and support with questions I had: https://citimarinestore.com/en/184-m...ioning-boat-ac Next up I'm considering purchasing a small gen set, apparently it can fit in the 45 without much issue. One thing I don't like is the idea of the weight it will add (these things start at 300+ pounds in the lower kW range)... not trying to slow down! If anybody has experience with a gen set in their 45 (or close), what did you go with, and has it affected performance any? |
New AC units now are 12 volt. Just need two batteries to run 7 hours before batteries kick.
need no stinking Genny |

Anyone ever run a portable AC unit off a small inverter type generator such as a Honda 2000? |
