Question Dip Sticks, Where are yours?

I have a new Keith Eichert 10qt. oil pan that came with a straight stainless dip stick that has to be bent into position with a pipe bending tool before located on the block. It is a one shot deal, so I need some advice before I screw it up. On the 675 Eichert motor that runs the same pan you can see it coming out in the front left of the motor right above were the mechanical fuel would be mounted. To do this you would have to come out of the oil pan and make a 90degree bend to get under the motor mount and then work your way through the fuel pump and sea water pump. If someone else has done something else please post a pic. I need other suggestions.

Thanks Mark

On the GIL pans, they use flexable tubing and compression fittings on the pan and a adel on the head. If you could swap your stainless tubing for flexable plastic, it might make things alot easier.

I was going to say; "on the other side of the bed in the morning". But since I am single, maybe that is saying something else.

I have 502s and they are above the fuel pump at the front left if you are facing them. I have the stainless stick and have found the flexible to be hard to read, people paint the end white so you can see the hole, it is black otherwise. I have pics at home I can post tonight.

I'd try to avoid any really tight bends as it becomes a ***** to get the dipstick back in.

Thanks Robert I am looking into that now. Are you going to bring that Apache to Jacksonville this year?

See it to the left above the exhaust cooling hose, it is yellow. Hope that helps.

My stick goes in easy, I can't just jam it in and always guide it in so I don't kink it.
