Do you use Dial Up or High Speed ?

With the new upgrades to the pictures in threads, i thought this post may help OSO with a decision. They are deciding on whether to keep the "thumbnail" view of the pics or put them back to full size. They are thumbnails to benifit the dial up users by loading the page faster.

Maybe this poll will help them make the decision by letting them know how many of us are on cable vs. dial up.

what pole? I don't see one...
*edit.. I see it now... wonder why I couldnt when i first entered the thread? *

There has always been a choice on being able to turn off the embedded pictures. Dial up users should use this. I have high speed and find it a pain to have to open another window to view the pictures. I have a pop-up stopper program that I use that stops secondary IE windows from opening, so it is a multi step process to get the pics to open for me...

I won't hardly stay in a hotel without high speed now. I couldn't imagine dial up at home. Don't we all get spoiled fast :D

I just noticed if you click on the number of votes for each poll selection, it will tell you who voted for that selection. Cool. Should tell us what all the "regulars" here are using.

Good idea on the pole. Don't penalize the mates that pay extra for hi-speed. Dial-up is for kids.

High speed at work, Dial up at home.......I cannot get DSL at my condo, and Cable modems have just become available near me. I just hate the cable company, and dont want to give them any more of my boat $$$. I'll join the '90s some day....

I am still living in the stone age but that is about to change. My local electric company is starting to offer high speed on there lines. That is my only option out here in the sticks.

Re: Do you use Dial Up or High Speed ?

Some of you are a lot more wealthy than some on this board, like myself. I live paycheck to paycheck. That's a fact. I simply cannot afford DSL or cable hookup. My entire internet package cost's me less than $25 a month, including the phone bill.

I love the thumbnails.

Even with high speed at work, the thumbnails are nice. You click on the pic and you get a really nice high res image. I vote to keep the thumbnails.

I think the correct terminology is my connection sucks so bad it could get a football up a hose pipe!

In England and in the sticks and even with ISDN it still doesn't compare to Broadband - tried the dish thing and that wasn't any better!
