We're raising the boat today and I'll keep you posted. I hope this guy is found and everyone is ok but it doesn't look good. BH

I found this second story. Sure doesn't sound very good
Boat found abandoned on Lanier
State agency investigating; owner sought
From staff reports
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A state wildlife agency is expected to begin searching today for clues to an abandoned boat found Sunday on Lake Lanier.
Capt. Larry Gibson of Sea Tow Lake Lanier, a boat towing and recovery company based at Holiday Marina in South Hall, said a 25-foot white Baja boat was found abandoned Sunday evening.
"We found the boat at full throttle," Gibson said Sunday, adding that a wallet and a cell phone was found on the boat.
The boat was found about 8 p.m. Sunday just north of Brown's Bridge, said Brian Hollis of Sea Tow.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is in charge of the investigation, said Lt. Robin Ramsey of the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
"Right now they're trying to contact the owner of the boat," Ramsey said, adding that the agencies involved are "not assuming anything."
Officials from the DNR could not be reached for comment Sunday night.
The boat was towed into Gainesville Marina on Sunday night, Hollis said.
The wallet found in the boat belonged to someone from Cumming, Gibson said, but he did not give the name.
The discovery of the boat comes less than two weeks before the summer recreation season traditionally begins, around Memorial Day. The peak visiting period ends around the Labor Day holiday.

Re: Abandoned Baja found last night floating
I just learned of this at dinner tonight, I knew this gentleman, and was not very fond of him. Reguardless of how I felt, I hate for someone to lose their life, but that is what this is looking like. I talked to several friends tonight and some that went out on the lake looking for clues...........We all knew Mike, wheither we liked him or not is irreleavant, we all hate hearing of this sort of ****.

Re: Abandoned Baja found last night floating
I do not know how Outlaws are set up but if I would get ejected from my boat hard enough to pull the layards I have no doubt that if my knee or my foot goes by those keys they would be torn right the F out as my limbs go by.
I have seen videos of ejections and those are VERY violent events, some times the guys are still holding the freakn throttles when they hit the water and those throttle would take a crane to rip out.
