Be careful regarding umbrella policies. Just because you have one, do not assume it will cover over your boat. Most umbrella carriers will not cover over boats in excess of 55mph. You need to contact your agent or carrier and let them know about the boat, its speed, and information regarding the underlying coverage or the umbrella will not respond. They will also make a charge for covering over a boat if they accept the risk. BUYER BEWARE!

I thought Sy was still doing cats? He can at least tell you were to go find insurance if he cant do it. I have sent people to him in the past and found him to be a stand up guy! Its worth a call.

I have mine through Strayer Insurance in Sanduskly Ohio. Cannot remember the underwriter off hand. $5,500. I may have got a little break because they also insure my plane and have insured my Cigarettes since 1994. This is the 3rd year with the cat.
Umbrellas' (my take) are designed for liability not the base of the boat.

The Skater Turbine tragedy in the Cheasapeak Bay has made so their carrier is getting out of that business.
Bill works at a Golf Course now.
