It is a Long-EZ, designed by Burt Rutan.
He is very leading edge when it comes to aircraft design, but sometimes not very practical. Ask someone at Beechcraft (now Raytheon) about the Starship.
The nice thing about a canard design aircraft is they will not stall. Kind of a good safety feature.

john denver was killed in a long ez right after he bought it ... pilot error... the fuel tank switch was behind his left shoulder he went to play w/ it and pushed on the rudder pedal to make himself reach... spin right into the ground
