Hey guys. I am new to this site and found it by coincidence.

I used to have 3 of those Cougar Cubs as a kid. My dad owned a Mercury Marine dealership in Florida. They used to be built out of Miami in the mid-80's. Mercury Marine was "sponsoring" these things as a boat for kids to get involved in racing with.

With a stock 25hp Mercury, they will get up to 42 miles per hours. I know, as a 12 year old I almost flipped one trying to get that extra bit out of it. Also, Mercury Marine made a special 18" chopper for the 25hp Merc just for this boat. Cool if someone could find one.

It feels like blasphemy to see a Force on the back, buy hey whatever.

Now that I am grown up, I want to track a good one down and buy it for the kids. Did you say a company had bought the molds and was going to build some more?

Thanks, Steve.

Now you have your own "Mini Me". Mike Myers would chuckle.

'Back in the day', everyone who raced a cat on the offshore circuit had one. I designed and built them when I was Prez of Cougar. A couple of my old glass guys made an exact copy of my Flight Marine "Popeyes" cat. It was too narrow. I chopped and channeled it, and turned it into the Cougar Cub. We had the Cub world championship at Key West in '82 and '83. 116 entries! Black Duck, Tommy Akouri, won. Crystal Girschner won the girl's cup. Good fun!

Ive been wanting to put a post up like this.
I want one.....if anyone has a lead on one of these or a Mini Hawk im interested.
Cool little boat.
There were some molds recently sold on Scream and Fly that I was looking at but didnt want to lay-up the boat myself. They may have been the Cougar mald and I believe they were bought by Kachina.
