Donate my 382 Formula

I have 1 2000 382 Formula Fastech that I have been trying to sell. I have been contacted in the past by charitable foundations asking if I have considered their donation program. At the time it did not make sense but I believe it might make sense now. These foundations offer you a cash value for your boat and a above average market value for your boat for charitable tax write off.

Does anybody know one of these foundations or have dealings with this type of charitable write off.

Thanks for the info

Jeffrey from the board operates (or at least did) something like this. I would try him first.

You can donate it to me if you would like and write it off :)

Re: Donate my 382 Formula

I have been trying to sell a 271 and was contacted by a program that called itself AIMS. I have no idea what it stands for but the underlying organization was California Foundation Funding. The guy talking to me was Vik Raman. His email is [email protected]

He seemed pretty professional and his follow up with me was good. I ended up selling the boat normally, but I did check it out with my cpa. He had another client that had done it (not necessarily with these guys) with a Hatteras. His primary objection was that it could flag your return for audit and you have to justify the write off and fair market value to the IRS if they challenge it.

Good Luck

Pick Me!!!

DUDE!!! I will start my own 501c3 if you are just looking for the write-off.
:eureka:

I'll name the organization after you and even do good deeds like they were going out of style. I promise I am a worthy cause.

I have dealt with AIMs in the past as well as dealing with MRE.
As a matter of opinion (And strictly opinion) I would send anyone I like trusted or respected directly to MRE. They take the extra time to dot the I's and cross the T's. They will explain the step by step process of donation, and they serve well known reputable charities. Most importantly, MRE has always kept a professional demeanor which is more than I can say for the other.
Call Jeffery at MRE and see what they can provide.

I'll do this AND all the paperwork. Heck, I'll even throw in free transport to my driveway!

I would be more than happy to pay the difference in tax value for the boat.

According to my accountant, you need a survey prior to donation.
