klmken: Good idea on the weather check thing.
Nort: I did do a bill of sales indicating "as is" condition. And you're right, I guess I did let emotions rule a bit, but hey, now I have a Cigarette (not a Formula though!)!
I have no complaints about what I got. And I don't think gen 1 vs gen 2 makes much difference. I just mentioned it as a little background info that what I got wasn't quite as it was represented to me but I didn't go after him for it.
Sydwayz: What is pink stuff? Remember, the only ice we see around here comes in bags and goes in to cooler for the foo foo drinks!

I quite often do follow up calls just to make sure. I've never had a deal go bad.
I guess I'll just wait until I get back from Denver and give him a call to see what he thinks.

Between two individuals specially across an international line. You are not liable for anything, buyer beware.
If the guy didn't ask for it to be winterized while your bringing it up to Canada at the end of February it's his fault. We brought our rig back from FL at the end of Feb and we winterized in Miami. And I was so paranoid I would not find winterizing fluid I brought it down from Vermont.
And once we got here there was a few times when we got -20* temps for a few days and that would crack any block not prepped right.
It's his mistake. I'm wondering what shape your Top Gun's in if the guy did not think of winterizing the Baja that went up?

I would worry more about him misrepresenting his boat than about the block cracking. If he new ahead of time that it was not winterized and he was fine with that then it's his own fault living up there he should have known better especially since it wasn't his first boat. I couldn't find it for Canada but the average temp in February for buffalo is 26 deg. Fahrenheit and there's no way that cracked driving through flagstaff.
