Need Sarasota info for races

Need Sarasota info for races
We're attending the races in Sarasota over the July 4th weekend and decided to make a family vacation out of it. Can someone tell me about the Radisson Lido Beach resort and The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort on Longboat Key? Which one is a better choice for our family (2 boys...15 yrs & 11 yrs)? Which has the better location to everything...including the race site? 
Unfortunately, we will not be bringing the boat with us so that's not a factor.

Colony is very nice lots of old folks and golfing and tennis I would assume more expensive, the radission is on the race course alittle closer to the pits and walking distance to St Armands, I would stay at the Radission if you can get rooms. Nice pools and Tiki bar too.

Thanks for the info! My husband went ahead and reserved a 2 room suite at the Radisson (kids have their room and we have ours
). Hope the weather is nice!
