HE is a good guy and has learned fast how to handle and maintaine his boat . And yes, He learned a lot from Howard Arneson which you now know the two are extremely close .

PokerRunGunT/S , How fast do the others run ? I know they are beautiful and have big power, but do they brake 200 mph ? ......... Jet set is out there .........
I interviewed Mike for a couple of TV shows scheduled to come out of the NY Powerboat Rally.

I really like the guy...... and I don't like many people...... as you've undoubtedly noticed.

Don't forget....an 8 yr. old Skater that as far as I can tell, has never missed a weekend on the water. I seem to recall seeing Mike out on the bay damn near every weekend over the last several years.
How long can XXX run upwards of 150 before rebuilds? Jet Set seems to do it every weekend.
Don't get me wrong - the XXX boat is badass, no question about it. BUT, if I had that kind if $$, and the desire to go that fast every time out, I would be enrolling myself in jet engine repair school.

JetSet missed one weekend last summer. He forgot to change the water impeller in the little outboard that motors it around the docks. He's never had a turbine or outdrive failure.

The boat looks brand new, not a scratch or crack anywhere. Jetset is the most highly maintained boat I've ever seen.

Jetset was the last boat to leave the pits, I don't have a clue where he was when the green flag dropped. There was probably a 20 minute delay between the time the first boat left the marina and Jetset.

He has got failure now. He snapped a shaft on the surface drive on the run back from the bridge.... a 2.5 inch shaft sheered off clean just above the prop. The amazing thing is can do over 100mph onone drive !! quite impressive
