Sorry Dave. Like I mentioned in the other thread (Medium Duty Trucks), I just realized 2 weeks ago that the truck was only rated for 17,200 pounds. From the day I bought it, I thought that it was rated for 21,400 pounds with the gooseneck/5th wheel setup. It is really confusing, but believe it or not the F-450 4wd has a higher towing capacity than the F-550 4wd by 100 pounds (17,200 vs 17,100), but the F-550 2wd truck is rated for 21,400 pounds. Crazy huh? I don't see where there can be that big of a difference, but that is how Ford has them rated. By the way, these weight ratings are all for the crew cab, diesel configurations.

I guess that I am luck to have figured this all out now, before we moved the Apache anywhere with the 450. With the Top Gun and the Gladiator, I had plenty of room to spare, but the Apache goes over the 17,200 pound limit.

Anyhow, I was offered $32,000 on trade, so I am going to list it at 35K and see what happens. After getting a quote from them on the trade in value, I went to the NADA web site to check the values. NADA did not have a listing for the F-450 pickup, so I used the F-350 dually as a base and checked the appropriate boxes from there. NADA listed the trade in value at $32,075 and the retail value at $36,200. The truck is a 2002, but it only has 23K miles on it. As you know, it is loaded with the Lariat package and all of the bells and whistles possible. Along with the factory options, it also has a second fuel tank for a total capacity of 74 gallons and an exhaust brake with a stainless 4" exhaust system. I think that it will move, but if it doesn't I will just have to suck it up and drive to Texas!

Thanks Dave. I have no doubt that you are gonna love your new truck. The 450 is a fantastic setup. I only wish that I could keep mine for hauling the other trailers, but the 450 has to go in order to swing the Peterbilt. We'll see how things go tomorrow. Oh yea, your trailer project is looking great! Please keep us posted.
