Default Another boat flipped

Anyone have any more info on the boat that flipped in St joe MI Friday night? Apparently headed to SOTW?

Both people in the boat are okay, some minor cuts & bruises, so that is great to hear. Both wearing life vests, too, something you don't hear often enough. A good samaritan boater saw it and picked them up.

Was a Cigarette, I think a 36 Gladiator. Sea Tow told us it was a 36, but wondered if it was 38. Heard it was stepped, but not sure. I'm not really clear on that, and just wondered if anyone knew exactly what kind of Cig it was. I only saw the front half sticking up out of the water. Steps, if any, were under water. Friend of mine saw it being pulled in and said it had steps.

Anyone have any more info?

I'd be curious to know how many have been built total, and of those, how many have been over. Not trying to stir anything up, I think they are awesome boats. I just seem to recall hearing about quite a few of them going over.

There has only one confirmed gladiator that has rolled over and that was key biscayne

I stand corrected. For some reason, I thought I remembered hearing about more than that.

Okay, thanks JM94. Oh, and I was told the person driving (not the owner) owns a Skater with 900's. If that is, in fact true, it's not like we're talking about a "novice" driver.

It just goes to show that things can happen to anyone at anytime. Glad everyone is okay, well, except maybe the owner of the boat who now has some (most likely) insurance tasks/woes to overcome.

You cannot count the x-virgin raceboat.Im sure the x-dimension and setup is different than a stock boat and it is always being pushed to the limit.
