What's your potential/ideal next boat?

Realistically speaking here; this has been a different thread with the Lottery theme before. I am completely happy with my purchase this year, and my next investment directly into the boat, aside from A/C, is something to get me to 1100-1200 HP total in twins, naturally aspirated.

I always told myself when I got into this sport; with a 26', that I would be happy when I got into a 38 foot boat. That was before I learned about the 37 Active Thunder, and I quickly ammended my aspiration to a 37/38 foot boat.

However, eveyone has to have something to shoot for right? What is your potential next boat? What are you in now, and what do you hope to move into? My boss told me something once... "A motivated employee; is an in debt employee." Everyone here is somewhat addicted to this sport, so whats gonna be your next motivator?

(If this thread tanks, I will take it that your spouses/s-o reguarly search for your posts, and nail you to the wall for them. :D )

I would like to build a new boat if not for next season the following maybe an AT37, or what i think would be the ultimate a skater v bottom but i dont know if either could pencil as i will never be in a position where i would be upside down and couldnt get out of it. and i have not had the nuts to look into it yet as i just got the fountain and my wife thinks its just fine.

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

I'm going to order another 43 Nortech in a few months. I was considering a Nortech 50 v, and realize that the cockpit really isn't that much bigger, and the 43 is big enough. Also, I'm not into hi-strung twinns or even triplets, well triplets would be ok if they were cute. :p :D

Man you do want to open a can of worms, don't you. Well, not like we know how to keep a boat for more than a year or anything....but, I think, if we could get rid of the Fountain, it would be something in the 38' range with big power that we might be able to put on a lift at our dock....BUT, Bill might get into one of his "I want a cruiser" moods and go for a 370 or 400SS.

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

I don't care what the history says. My next boat will be one BADASS Gladiator.
If I stay single.

If not, then I think a 37' AT like RadioActive or ThunderStorm will do it.

I'd like to move to a 35-38 older cig. cafe maybe? or a 28-32 cat, maybe 28 skater or 30 chris cat?

I'd like to move from my 32 Dominator into a 38 Slingshot or 390 Velocity as my next boat. 38 is perfect size for the type of boating I do.

Went from a 357 Formula to a 37 Outerlimits. I don't think I would need any thing more, maybe in a couple of years a newer one.

You might to check out the new Donzi models that will be released soon. Can't say what they are...but they are supposed to be very hot in the 35 to 38 foot range.

35 Formula...unless insurance gets even crazyer  ..then maybe a center console with a couple of big eggbeaters :(

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

43/Patti, funny you mention that. I can potentially see myself in a 39 Donzi ZSC or 40 Formula SS someday. After spending a weekend on Norty's Sunseeker Apache, I really liked that too. I know I don't want triples, so probably something around 39/40 feet.

If THAT ever happens, I would need to have a little 18-22 foot Donzi Classic or the like for dinner runs.

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

Ideally, something older in the 35-38 range. Realistically, our next boat will probably be a 28-30 single, most likely a 288 Sunsation. Slight chance for a 28' Pantera if I could find the right one at the right time.

Ideal: A paid for one. So, something radio controlled most likely.

Potential:
37 Outerlimits, maybe Wildthings if I can't find something in the next few seasons. :D

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

Next boat will be a big jump for me, I am going to hold out for a 36 Spectre or 36 Eliminator, shoot for the 600-700hp range per motor. That will probably take at least 2-3 more years, with allot of variables going my way.

WILL :drink:

Re: What's your potential/ideal next boat?

I'm going to keep my '76 Donzi Classic forever...but, in the next year or two I plan on picking up a bigger classic to... Either a 27 Magnum or 28 Cig SS - With Twin stock(ish) smallblocks. If I find a significant amount of money in that time - then a New 28 Pantera w/ twins.

Interesting seeing what everyone else is planning on - obviously many of us are in very different positions in our boating career's

Something with 525efi's ... gotta be able to turn key it any day ... doesn't matter how much money you have, a boat that won't run is no fun.

Should run 90+

Don't need no stinkin' cabin

Prefer standup

Must have great pedigree

She must be pretty ... and trick

Hell ... I may as well keep what I have and go buy a Ferrari :eureka:

:D :D :D
