Glad to see this topic resurface. I've been toying with the idea of building a gear box to attach a single large deisel to twin outdrives: Splits the torq, solves docking problems because you'd have independant F&R...this would be for cruising app not racing or HP.

The new Hot Boat has an article on an IMCO / HALLETT project where IMCO installed twin Yanmars coupled to their new shiftable 1000 drives.
They are now looking toward a couple Duramax engines for even more HP with less weight. I'm curious as to who is going to marinize those Duramax engines...sounds like a winner though. |

Well banks just built some really nice d-max motors with twin turbos putting out 750 hp and over 1000lbs.. Someone needs to marinize those....I would love to run a twin setup like that....

I too, saw that show, very cool facility Banks has. And I know that someone is presently marinizing the twin turbo Duramax, but I can't remember who is doing it! :rolleyes:
