Over those twenty-odd years, I would venture to guess that NO manufacturer can even BEGIN to approach Fountain's success on the racecourse.
Even the 'Rio Roses' boat ( fastest V-hull of all time ) has a distinguished racing legacy.

What sport? I don't think either one of these boats would last one lap in a real offshore race. If these guys want to impress me they will have to do it on the course.
Is drag racing a sport? Boat motorcycle or vehicle.
You put two competitors against one another trying to achieve a goal before or above the other and you have yourself a sport.
Unless you've got the stones to run a boat that fast, I would not question the validity of the sport.
This competition has brought new light and new recognition (As well as new technology) to a game we all love to play. Best of luck two both camps and lets hope we come out with high numbers instead of sad stories.
