I'd get a 28-29 footer w/ twins. Although the price you mentioned, it'll be an older boat....I doubt you'll find anything newer for that price. If it were me I'd look between a 25 outlaw and a 29 outlaw, w/ the 25 being more around your price range.

Covered a bunch of different boats in the last 15 years, and in the price/size your looking for I'd probably try and find an older(89 or newer) Formula 271 single or a 272 twin,,,nice sized cabin, plenty of creature comforts, enough head room to sit upright and depending on power still run between 60 and 70 honest mph. I had an 89 272 with a pair of 420s with bravos that I put together that would run 72 all day long and the cabin was as nice or nicer than the 292 I now have.

and if anyone knows anyone looking for a 1990 four winns liberator with a 350 and a king cobra drive, custom dash with new gauges, rebuilt drive, very clean with trailer please let me know.
Baja has a nice boat in your size range. You may be able to find one used too.

Some good suggestions here, but of all of them, that Velocity looks to be in damn close to brand new condition.
Don't know much about Velocitys, but that boat sure looks like a deal to me.

Sonic 28SS w/twins, great cabin. Not sure if you'll hit 70 with small blocks.
