I'd take it on for 10k. It's too much work/time/risk for 20k. I wouldn't get my effort back out of it.

I think remember this boat being marketed locally few years back up here in NH, its been for sale a looong time. Its gonna take the jaws of life to get it off the trailer.

Now that's funny....... :p |
Re: Here's a project Cafe Racer w/trailer for project seekers.
Any ideas on how a boat like this gets to be in this condition?
Did someone leave a drain plug in over the winter? Seems like a damn shame, even if it has been a long time. |

Hey Jayboat, Nice ship as your avatar. Is it really yours, or are you buying her next year?

Re: Here's a project Cafe Racer w/trailer for project seekers.
Usually rot happens from the wood in the stringer, transom, floor not being properly sealed within fiberglass at the factory. There is a void where water can enter and then the wood acts like a sponge. A lot of rotton floors happen from the manufacturer only covering the top with glass, but leaving the bottom exposed. So, its usually a quality lapse, tho it could be caused by someone drilling holes for an install in the transom and not properly sealing the holes once finished.
Bottom line is there is no perfect boat, all manufacturers have or will have some problem.....even Cig. |

crack in the transon, around the gimbles, where ever air goes, water goes.

Too Old,
I don't remember ever showing you that boat. I do remember you looking at the 35 cigarette from the Bahamas with #3 drives. Are ya sure I said ridiculous offer? I don't get to make the final price call on a brokerage boat, the owner does. I'll take all the offers I can get. I can't tell you that I have not gotten some offers I have considered ridiculous. They are usually the ones that are 1/2 of what I would consider such a value that I couldn't pass up purchasing the boat for myself. |

Waterbrain, I wish! I dont think there's room in the hold for an Outerlimits, though, which would make a most excellent runabout for a vessel like this. :D It's the Lady Lola, I snagged a few pix of her last year from http://www.superyachtsociety.com/.
I think they've now got the new year's design nominees up. Lots of nice dreams there. Here are a couple more of Lola... |
