Hi-Perf. Boaters Be Prepared For Boardings
#12
I saw the coasties pulling over a lot of Center Consoles this weekend up by me. There we so many boats pulled over yesterday I thought for sure they were going to stop me and give me a noise ticket or something.
I guess it helps having the coast guard medallions my friend in the coast guard gave me.

WE were boarded in LA harbor, and all I can say is you don't want to mess with the coasties. We have a 52 foot cruiser, and they looked in every place on the boat, and they were all business. Every thing that should be on your boat they will check for, they won't miss a thing. It took us almost an hour before they completed there check on our boat, everything passed, gave us some paper work and told us to keep it on the vessel, and show it to any other coasties that mey want to board. We tried to talk to them well they were on our vessel, no way, all business. Talked to them a short time later on the fuel dock, nice guys, they told us that they had been ordered to board all vessel's, so be perpared.

They always had every right to board our boats in the past.
Now they just have a better reason to.
As far as I concerned, they are doing what they are being paid to do.
Protecting us. Not taking any freedoms away.......
