Being I V-Bottom fan I have to admit that is correct. The only thing I like better about v-bottoms that go 100mph with big power is the acceleration.

I went 105 in an Outerlimits and the acceleration from 80 to 105 was incredible.

On this particular cat the acceleration was a bit slower. We got up to 80 - 85 mph pretty easily but then it took longer to get to 99 mph. Then again, with HP 500's pushing a 36' boat to 100 mph I guess you can't complain either way.

We ran from Sandy Hook past the Verrazanno and back. On the way back my friend was on the sticks and I was driving. We were just a touch under 100mph (99 speedo recall) with more to go. Since it was my first time driving a 36 we didn't think it was a great idea to run balls to the wall.

If I didn't want a boat with all the amenities as a v-bottom I would definetely go with a skater. It was hands down the smoothest running 36' boat I have been on.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience.

This was the boat. It has since been converted to a pleasure boat and re-painted since the mishap in the Worlds.
Are you going to do the poker run on Sunday? Should be fun!
