Re: CHARLEY MAKES LANDFALL - FT. Myers
Thanks Doug. We got lucky.
I got home from work late, ransacked our home, grabbed everything important and of value, crammed our cars full, just in time before the cops made us leave.
Then, after all the work of preperation, no sleep, and exhaustion, the storm turned. But in the hours of waiting for it to hit, and being able to do nothing about it, I've never felt so wierd. Facing losing it all, coming home to nothing, is about the worst thing I've ever felt. I can't stop thinking about all those folks south and east of us who were devestated.
These storms should not be taken lightly. I'm glad we prepared and left. I would do it again.
