I just got to wondering how the fiberglass is sprayed into the mold. What is the difference in the composition of the gel coat and fiberglass during this process? I assume the gel is sprayed first. How do they make multi colored hulls... I mean what does the gel coat look like from the inside. Anyone have pictures?

do a search for threads started by Joker he has some good pics of the construction of his boats also in the Extreme manufacturers section of the board Wardy has some good stuff as well on the construction of the 29's. those two are among some of the best built boat you will ever find bar none.
also go to the learning center of fiberglast.com and browse around there for a while. there is a great amount of info there.
spraying gel in a mold can be very tricky when you are doing multi-color graphics. most complex stuff is on small west coast jet type boats and there is only a handful of people that are really good at it. you basically build the boat from the outside in. stagger in your colors than laminate in the hull sides and bottom than superstructure to put it simply. lots an lots of planing ahead it really requires some advance thought so you dont back yourself into a corner.
