Dear Mr. McCarthy Sr and Jr,

Would you please start building boats again?

Thank you.

I'd buy a 34' Coyote if they made it again. With the new materials and a great looking vintage deesign it would be great.

cig3 i sold the boat to a friend. there was an electrical fire under the dash wich burned the dash and part of the deck. he pulled the motors out and sold the hull. last i heard you could buy the hull for around $1500.00.

Cig 3 I bought the boat from Allan. I put the power in a Cafe Racer and he is right, the ride in the Cig is good but the Coyote was just a beast in big water. The hull is in rough shape. I stripped it of anything that was good. I took it to the landfill to get rid of it, you could smell the burnt fiberglass in the yard. After I dump the boat, someone came and got it out of the landfill and was trying to sell it. If it is still there you probably could get it real cheap but it would be a BIG project. I think the name of the shop is Seahorse Plastics. 757 488-7653 but I am not sure. I got rid of the hull over 2 years ago. Here are some pics.

Alcor, do a search for a thread called "offshore powerboat video". OSO member Christopher Gibbons had copies of a video of 1981 Key West Worlds made. I bought one of them and it is great. There are several Coyote's in it incuding Putt Putt. I think a Coyote won the modified class. Maybe he has one left. I can make you a copy but then it would be a copy of a copy and the quality goes downhill.

After selling my last project like this one minus the fire. I bought that hull for next to nothing. I am in the beginnings of that "HUGE" job. I really love the hull though. I have removed all of the burnt glass and bulkhead. Whew. Leaving me with an essentially bare hull. I am fixing each of the hull areas that have delam. I have rebuilt parts of the hull as needed. Initially I planned to lengthen the hull but the thing is gorgeous as is.

I have to design and build the deck and the interior of course. The smell of smoke is barely noticeable at this point.

I thought that I would wake this old thread up and Let Charlie Sr. that I love the lines on this thing. I would love any more history and pictures or videos of the boat.

Charlie Sr. If there were something you could have done with that hull that you didn't do, what was it?

Anyway,
Fair winds and following seas.

Joe if your rebuilding this thing you better get a restore thread up in the classic section! Huge piece of history that a lot of members would love to see restored
