whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Ok...question, who's going to have the nicest 39 Ft. v-bottom?
I understand Nor-Tech, Outerlimits and Cigarette will be coming out with new models. As we know, Outerlimits is already out there. Anybody have any info. on these vessels? I do know they will run with Bravo's (which kind of sucks) :drink: zzie |
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
You forgot about Donzi and Skater
|
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
I am curious as to why in the h*ll Cigarette would now have TWO models of different lengths called the Top Gun.
Were all the good names taken? |
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Looks like 39 is the "New" target size in the boat biz.....
Cig (to compete with OL ?) Donzi (was the first of the new 39's?) Dragon (jury still out ... total departure from everything else) Nortech (36 "cat" for the v-bottom crowd) OL (somewhat logical offering between 37 and 42) Skater (are they really gonna make these ?) Sunsation (396 will be 402 with platform) The thinking here I believe is offer the largest boat they can that can run with bravos to keep the pricing down ... needed a "tweener" for the guys that want to step up from 30-35 but can't swing a "big one" with speedmasters for whatever reason .... some of the popular 37-38 foot boats everyone has now may be history if these new ones catch on ? Whatever .... whoever prints the best magazine ad wins !!! JM |

The new 39' Cigarette that belongs to Offshore-Performance.com will be at the Cambridge/Choptank Poker Run (MD) this weekend.
I think the new Donzi is supposed to make an appearance as well. |

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
The 30 OL is the boat of the future. Great style, Awesome in big water, and 100 mph on 87 octane w/ stock 525's. ompared to the prices of the other boats mentioned on this site, it's actually affordable as well.

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Did you say 30' OL???

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
What is the Dragon owner unhappy about?
|
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Guys .... unfortunately he has had "a myriad" of issues , mechanical , and otherwise ... the old saying "it's always something" has truely haunted this guy ... with this one , as well as his last boat ... it's really unfortunate!!!
Here's a guy who did the "right" thing ... sold the big power/ speedmaster boat (BTW , the guy that bought that one did a total resto on it... 41 Apache... and as of last weekend , is now DONE with performance boating , but thats another story ) to go with the latest and greatest stock power/ bravo set-up, and to make a long story bearable .... hasn't really boated ... unless he was on someone elses boat in about 3 years !!! I gotta give him credit for his "intestinal fortitude" !!! He really loves this sport ... it just doesn't love him back . Anyways ... the boat is now at a "high end" race shop to see if they can get the bugs worked out ??? I've got a 1/2 dozen other guys on my lagoon with similar tales of woe ... it seems we loose a couple each year .... soon it'll be nothin but Searays and fishin boats up here !?!?!?!?! :( JM |
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Yes, the Dragon has had 4 problems this season. They have all been addressed;
1] The fuel filters needed to be changed after about 50 hours because there way debris coming from the tank. This is a warranty item as the boat only has 50 some hours. 2] The tank gasket [rubber] came apart in some small pieces and had to be replaced. This is a warranty item. 3] The drive upper clutch was stuck in forward there was no N or R. This is a warranty item. 4] The stereo or radio needs to be looked at. This is a warranty item. All these items are being or have been taken care of. In some cases it took some time to locate the problem. Whatever down time he had is not what we wanted. But we are here to stand by the owner and the Dragon. That's every owner and every Dragon. Craig Barrie |
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
My .02 for what is worth. Any new boat could have a number of warranty issues on electrical, mechanical or structural. In my mind you can not blame the boat manufacture for mechanical issues unless it was due to faulty rigging. I would be more concerned with hull and structural warranty issues.

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Craig, you're the man!!! :drink: :drink:
JM........why is it in a "high end" race shop? |
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
Has anyone out there been the first one to own anything. The Dragon is the boat everyone is shooting at right now. Epoxy, Post Cured, stock power with the ability to run the magical 100mph mark.
If anyone expected the proto-type first off boat, car, widget whatever to be perfect and without flaw they would never have been produced. We've all been there good things take time, I personally have been involved with the Dragon project and think Craig and Scott are doing a great job standing behind their product. Boat number 2 and 3 will be even better. |

Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
i will take it! they are very nice boats, all new boat seem to have bugs.
|
Re: whos going to have the nicest 39 ft.?
I woke up at 3:13 am and remembered there was one more item. We had to find a way to presure check the cooling system as one motor seem to be down or loosing a small amounts of coolant. It would also shut itselt off at about 5000 RMP. We had to order a cap then make a tool to presure check the system. That took two weeks. cb
