When he had it 2 years ago it had 550's in it. My old Checkmate ran 78 - 80 GPS speed and he passed me at a good clip one day. i'd say he was close to 85mph. Now with another 175hp per doggie, he may be close to the century mark :eek:

He only had it out twice so far for maybe a total of 3 hours. So he hasn't gone over 3500 rpms yet until he gets the feel of the boat (remember, he hasn't driven the boat in 2+ years!!) I'm glad he is being safe and "respecting" the beast rather than going out there and hurting himself. I'll let you know the speeds in a couple weeks. He still needs to prop the boat right.

Oh, and at 3500 rpms, he passed me like i had an anchor out. ( i was running 67mph. )
