Ad the 3 and the 6 from 36ft and you come up with 9 so follow it to 9 lives cat...

Yes, it does mean documenting it with the coast guard - you still need to register it in the state and get the decal to put on the side. And yes, they can confiscate your boat if they want to, that is in the small print. Not something I worry about though.
