Postings were somewhat docile in the beginning but with the anonymous posting someone took the anonymity as a place to hide. The poster insulted a boat manufacturer's wife and would not say who he (or she) was and then things got really heated,people stepped up to defend the integrity/character of the boat builder's wife who was insulted; people were really pissed and wanted that person's hide. If you talk smack about a boat that's one thing, but when you talk smack about someone's wife it was ready to get violent. That was prior to October 2000, I think. After the name calling incident the OSO had registration, and no more (anonymous posting) hiding which is a good thing.
