I was all set to go pick up the cougar I have been looking at... Anyway I called several places and not one will insure it. Its a 23Mtr with 2.5 Mercs. Anyone know where I should look? Help!!!

The only 2 that will underwrite these boats will be Ace, and Markel. You can try PMA, and American Marine Insurance Services. Both of these are sponsers on OSO. They want to see experience in Cats most of all. You may get lucky with a Company that has no clue about the boat, but it will be a problem if you ever need insurance, there are so many clauses that protect them. It gets very ridiculous, do a search on this site and see what others are paying for insurance. Good luck

Thanks for the help!!! I was able to get coverage from Markel this far. I have asked for quotes from a couple like you guys mentioned. I was just thrown for a loop when progressive said no. I had insurance on both of my Allisons with them. Thanks again.
