i figured it would be a little faster than that...my 6300 lb twin small block scarab runs a solid 68-69...300hp a piece, bravo 1's spinnin 23p 3 blades @ 5000 rpms

I think that the 29 Scarab with 350's not the ideal setup. We Procharged one and for the 20k upgrade are getting 76mph with the 24 Bravos. The owner of the boat is not happy with the results. I would think that any single engined 27-29 boat is a better deal, easier to work on and less money spent. I have to take off the exhaust to change the plugs, what a pain. I have a 27 Excalibur (84) Wellcraft with a single and look forward to cutting the Scarabs ass in the spring... after the new surface drive :D :D

Depends on the props he's running at the time. I would venture to say he's in the low 80's. He's got some props he runs upper 70s with but the torque will give you whiplash :D So it depends. I would want it because of the potential. A pair of Prochargers on that thing and :drink: I just love small overpowered boats !!! It just brings tears to my eyes :D

Good thing about that setup is that it can take it.... Look at Panteras vs any other boat basically. When I first looked at the power some of these guys were building their boats with I though they were crazy.. The hull is just as solid as can be...

Not to sell you on the thing because I barely know Tim or have any interest in Pantera but take a ride in one and you will buy it.

i have a friend of mine with the identical boat as i but 2 years newer with whipples and he's hittin 86 on a gps

Tims boat will run in the 78-80 MPH range on GPS. Domz new Pantera 28' will run in the 82-83 MPH range on GPS all day long powered by twin 496 HOs with stock props.. To me the handling of a boat in rough water is more important than the top end even though it is nice to have both.

Domz Pantera has a flat screen TV in the cabin, XM radio, GPS speedos mounted behind the bolster seats, Leather MOMO wheel, GGB mufflers,Custom Trim tabs with Pantera logos , custom paint, and swim platform. We also glass in Naca Ducts for air ventelation.
